Landscape and lifestyle photography. Digital Environments, Matte Painting and Compositing for VFX.
After graduating from the University of São Paulo, Law School in 1994 and an 8 year career in investment banking, I decided to pursue my passion for visual communication through film and photography. Skydiving became a big part of my life and I started to edit videos from mine and my mate’s helmet cameras for fun making me connect the dots between photography, moving images and music and triggered the biggest turn around in my professional life. Between that and my first job in VFX at Framestore London in 2003, there were a few base jumps, a snowboarding season in Chamonix and lots of soul searching, in a time when there wasn’t much formal education or obvious entry points to the industry. After almost 10 years in London, I got my first taste of New Zealand, while working on Avatar in 2009. Eventually I fulfilled my dream and moved to Wellington in 2013 and been there ever since. After a few years as a Senior Compositor at Weta I was given the opportunity to make a move to the Environments Department, in 2015, which now became the Matte Painting Department, where I currently work as Lead Matte Painter.
